A new form of the quintuple product identity

主讲人介绍：刘治国，华东师范大学教授, 博士生导师，主要研究领域为椭圆函数论、基本超几何级数理论和数论。他对天才数学家Ramanujan遗留的诸多问题有深入广泛的研究并取得令人瞩目的研究成果。在国际上率先提出q-偏微分方程的概念并将其应用到q-级数的研究中，开辟了此领域新的研究方向。曾被英国皇家学会破格授予“王宽诚皇家学会研究奖学金”，美国科学院院士George  Andrews教授盛赞他“发展了令人称奇的数学方法”。美国科学院院士Richard Askey，美国数学会会士和物理学会会士Mourad  E. H.  Ismail等人也对他的工作给予了高度评价。迄今已在Advances in Mathematics, Transactions of AMS,  IMRN等国际重要数学刊物上发表研究论文60多篇。

内容介绍：The quintuple product identity is one of the most basic theta function identity,  which is enormously useful in the theory of theta functions and q-series. The  quintuple product identity was first discovered by Kiepert in 1879 and later  rediscovered by others many times. In this talk I will introduce a new form of  the Kiepert quintuple product identity by using the Legendre–Jacobi– Kronecker  symbol.
