主讲人介绍:杨彤,香港理工大学讲席教授,欧洲科学院院士,发展中国家科学院院士,香港科学院院士, 美国数学会会士。曾获华人数学家大会晨星银奖, 国家杰出青年基金海外与港澳青年学者合作基金, 裘槎基金会高级研究成就奖, 国家自然科学奖二等奖, 香港研资局高级研究学者奖。主要从事非线性偏微分方程的研究。在Journal of the American Mathematical Society,Communications on Pure and Applied Mathematics 等期刊上发表论文190多篇。是数学期刊«Analysis and Applications»的主编之一(2013-2017)及 «Kinetic and Related Models»的创刊主编之一,目前担任«Bulletin of the London Mathematical Society» «Journal of the London Mathematical Society» «SIAM Journal of Mathematical Analysis»等学术期刊的编委。
内容介绍:In a region closer to the boundary compared to Prandtl layer, an inviscid disturbance can be manifested by the interaction with viscous mode via the no-slip boundary condition due to resonance. In some unstable range of parameters, this leads to instability in the transition regime from laminar flow to turbulence. This instability phenomenon was observed by physicists long time ago, such as Heisenberg, Tollmien and C.C. Lin, etc. And it was justified rigorously in mathematics by Grenier-Guo-Nguyen using the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation. In this talk, we will present some results on this phenomenon in other physical situations that the governing system is either MHD or compressible Navier-Stokes equation.The talk is based on some recent joint work with Chengjie Liu and Zhu Zhang.
